| Job Summary | This position provides a variety of sterile and non-sterile compounding pharmacy services within UK HealthCare, supporting the preparation and coordination of specialty medications for patients. The Lead Compounding Technician serves as the primary trainer for compounding staff, ensuring competency, compliance, and adherence to all regulatory and safety standards. This role will assist in developing, maintaining, and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the compounding area. The technician will work closely with pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare team members to support timely access to compounded medications across a variety of subspecialty disease states. Additionally, this role collaborates with supply chain and pharmacy leadership to manage inventory for specialty infusion medications, ensuring appropriate stock levels and minimizing waste. The Lead Compounding Technician assists service area leadership with administrative duties, including assisting with staff scheduling for technicians, coordinating coverage for call-ins, and supporting onboarding and training of team members. This position facilitates regular staff communication and helps lead team meetings to ensure alignment on processes and area updates.
