Purpose:
This position will bring specialized knowledge and experience to utilize all aspects of US GAAP accounting in performing a variety of accounting and reporting functions within our Shared Services division.
Job Functions/Accountabilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Accounting and compliance for multiple US affiliated companies
- Perform all related accounting functions required to maintain the general ledger in compliance with GAAP and company policy and procedures, including, but not limited to, the following:
- Recording of company revenues in compliance with ASC 606 (including project/percentage of completion accounting for certain aspects)
- Recording company COGS and expenses in accordance with GAAP
- Preparing and posting journal entries to record all business transactions
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts, ensuring financial statement accuracy
- Analyzing income statement accounts, including flux analysis
- Managing accounts payable functions, including processing and issuing payments for customer invoices.
- Completing period-end closing activities to ensure timely reporting
- Preparing of financial statements, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Statement of Cash Flows including variance analysis of budget versus actual for monthly and annual reporting
- Adhering to JSOX internal controls and procedures
- Prepare cash flow forecasting and reporting to management and ensure compliance with any bank requirements
- Manage and record fixed asset purchases/projects
- Reconcile physical inventory to books on a periodic basis
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors on periodic financial statement and JSOX audits (as applicable) and audited financials
- Communicate with customers and vendors to address questions, resolve issues, and respond to requests
- Assist in researching, registering, and filing for all regulatory and state and local tax requirements
- Assist with internal control implementation and documentation
- Assist in ERP system implementations (as needed) and evaluate and develop workflow processes and procedures for new affiliated companies; develop, recommend, and implement procedural and system changes to increase accuracy and efficiencies

Qualifications:
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
- Master’s Degree in Business or Accounting a plus
- CPA Certification preferred
Experience:
- 5+ Years of accounting experience required
- Experience with manufacturing/cost accounting/inventory management a must
- Experience including project/percentage of completion accounting for certain aspects
- Experience handling multi-location, multi-state companies a plus
- SAP experience a plus
Special Qualifications:
- Solid accounting/technical skills and working knowledge of GAAP
- Strong MS Office knowledge is required; advanced Excel skills a plus
- Effective verbal and written communication skills are required
- Exposure to US GAAP ASC 606 and ASC 842 compliance a plus
- Exposure to Sarbanes-Oxley compliance a plus
- Initiative, customer service orientation, attention to detail, adaptability and decision-making skills are essential.
- Highly organized with an ability to work independently
