JobSummary:
The Structural Drafterwill be responsible for preparing 2D drawings for the design of complexoffshore/onshore structural systems utilizing CAD software. The entry level Structural Drafter willperform their job duties under appropriate guidance and supervision ofexperienced staff, typical the Group Leader.
JobDuties and Responsibilities:
• Prepare 2D drawings for assigned projects fromsketches or SACs model output files and/or verbal instructions;
• Work with Lead on technical details andspecify dimensions, materials;
• Work with Lead to draft Skids/Modulesstructural, from concept through AFC;
• Work with Lead to draft Onshore/Offshorestructures, from concept through AFC;
• Draft multi-discipline supports details, fromconcept through AFC;
• Edit drawings and incorporate changes fromprovided markups and/or verbal instructions;
• Assist engineers and designers in resolvingdesign issues on the drawings
• Interact with design team for resolvingdrafting/design related issues;
• Ensure that all drawings adhere to Client,Industry and Company Standards;
• Maintain project files and folders and followcompany standards;
• Responsible for informing discipline leads onany and all concerns relating to their respective assignments;
• Be part of a team to perform field work asrequired to obtain accurate information and create sketches for the design ofthe project (duration determined by the project requirements and project management).
Basicor Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
• Requires current enrollment in an accredited drafting certificate or degree program;
• Must have working knowledge of MS Office Suiteof products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
PreferredQualifications
• Knowledge of design software i.e. (AutoCAD,Advance Steel, Navisworks) preferred;
• Basic knowledge of AISC, AWS, API, RP, 2A, andOSHA standards required;
• Basic knowledge of AISC steel members and AWSweld symbols required;
• Ability and availability to work occasionalovertime to include weekends as dictated by project requirements;
• Ability to interact with all levels of staff.
WorkingConditions:
• Work is primarily conducted in an officeenvironment (Private or Semi-Private office) but also requires occasionaltravel to off-site work locations.
• Field duties require outdoor work in a plantor offshore platform atmosphere;
• Interaction with other team members, as wellas supervisors and client personnel;
• Working offshore or in plant and/or shop areasaround production machinery with extreme noise levels;
• Must be able to wear safety equipment asrequired by the safety department for personal protection;
• May be at more than one job site in a day andmust be able to tolerate climate changes;
• May be required to travel out of town on aperiodic basis.
