Overview

Ignite@AG: Fuel Your Future

Program Overview:

At Analysis Group, we provide our clients with thoughtful, pragmatic solutions to their most challenging business and litigation problems. Analysis Group is one of the largest private economics consulting firms, with more than 1,500 professionals across 15 offices in North America, Europe, and Asia. Since 1981, we have provided expertise in economics, finance, health care analytics, and strategy to top law firms, Fortune Global 500 companies, and government agencies worldwide. Our internal experts, together with our network of affiliated experts from academia, industry, and government, offer our clients exceptional breadth and depth of expertise.

The Ignite@AG Summer Externship offers a unique, in-person opportunity for incoming MBA students currently accepted into US-based, full-time programs with an expected graduation date of 2028 and currently enrolled Ph.D. students with an expected graduation date of 2027 or 2028 to explore the impactful world of economic consulting.

This program provides hands-on exposure to the Associate role (the entry position for new MBAs and Ph.D. recipients) within a collaborative, analytics-focused environment. The externship is open to all applicants, with a focus on providing opportunities to individuals who have not had prior exposure to economic consulting. Participants will gain insight into how Analysis Group consultants address critical business and litigation challenges through data analysis, strategic thinking, and research, while also developing strategies for navigating the workplace and effectively managing teams by accounting for differences in work styles, personalities, and cultures.

Externs will strengthen their analytical skills, participate in a mock case, shadow an Associate, receive interview coaching, and build connections with AG consultants and leaders. They will also have the opportunity to network with our affinity groups—which are open to all employees—such as Black@AG and Latins@AG, providing an additional avenue to learn about AG’s inclusive culture and build lasting professional relationships. For any questions, please contact us at extern.recruiting@analysisgroup.com.

Application & Recruiting Process:

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through May 8, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET. The recruiting process includes a single 45-minute virtual interview during which you will be asked questions about your experiences and qualifications. We will inform you of an interview decision three weeks after your application submission. To be considered, we ask that you submit:

  • Resume
  • Statement of Interest (Please upload it as a PDF in the Cover Letter section of your profile in the candidate portal): Please describe your interest in Ignite@AG, what you hope to gain from the experience, and any relevant background or academic interests. You may also include your preliminary geographic preference for office placement.
  • Reflecting on Access and Inclusion (Please upload it as a PDF in the Materials-Additional Transcripts/Other Documents section of your profile in the candidate portal):

As part of your application, we invite you to reflect on two areas:

  1. Access and growth for yourself – How Ignite@AG represents an opportunity for you to explore economic consulting. You might consider sharing how your academic, professional, or personal experiences have shaped your curiosity about the field, your prior exposure—or lack thereof—to the field of economic consulting, and the reasons why participating in this program would be an opportunity for growth at this stage of your journey.
  2. Access and growth for others – How you have contributed to creating access, fostering growth and inclusion, or building belonging for others within the teams, organizations, or communities in which you have participated.

You are welcome to respond in whatever way feels most authentic, or you may use prompts such as:

  • Have you faced challenges in accessing opportunities in fields such as economic consulting or related areas? How have you navigated any of those barriers?
  • Share an experience in which you worked with people who had different perspectives than yours. What did you learn?
  • How have you helped open doors or create opportunities for others in academic, professional, or community settings?
  • Describe a time when you worked to make a team or organization more inclusive. What actions did you take and what was the impact?

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or any other class protected under applicable federal, state, or local law, and we encourage candidates of all backgrounds to apply.
