Position Details TitleLecturer in Latinx StudiesSchoolFaculty of Arts and SciencesDepartment/AreaCommittee on Ethnicity, Migration, RightsPosition DescriptionThe Committee on Ethnicity, Migration, Rights at Harvard University seeks applications for a Lecturer position in Latinx Studies. We welcome expertise in some combination of the following areas: comparative ethnic studies; intersections with Indigenous and/or Black studies; colonization and decolonization; migration and diaspora studies. We are particularly interested in candidates whose courses would put multiple genres, disciplines, geographical areas, and/or historical periods in dialogue, situating ethnic, racial, and social dynamics in a transnational and global context.
The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2026 and will carry a 2:2 teaching load, distributed as one lecture course and one seminar each semester, primarily for undergraduates. The Lecturer position is for three years, with the second two years contingent on satisfactory annual performance reviews.

This statement should include titles of courses the candidate would be interested in teaching, as well as a description of the candidate’s approach to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment in which all students are encouraged to ask questions and share their ideas.5. Two Sample Syllabi: One for an Introduction to Latinx Studies course and one for an upper-level seminar related to the applicant’s expertise.6. Names and contact information of at least three referees, who will be asked by a system-generated email to upload a letter of recommendation if the candidate is invited to interview for the position. Three letters of recommendation must be received in order for the candidate to be short-listed for the position (the maximum number of references that can be submitted is five).
