Position Description

Position Summary

The Massachusetts Regional Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement, maintenance, utilization, and lifecycle management of all construction equipment and vehicles within the company.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee the inspection, repair, and preventive maintenance of all construction and paving equipment, including pavers, rollers, milling machines, loaders, and trucks.
  2. Develop, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance schedules to maximize equipment uptime and extend lifecycle.
  3. Manage and supervise a team.
  4. Maintain accurate service records, equipment logs, and compliance documentation.
  5. Manage equipment budgets, monitor costs, and track inventory of parts, tools, and supplies.
  6. Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, MSHA, and company safety standards for all equipment and maintenance activities.
  7. Support project teams by providing equipment recommendations, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring availability of machinery to meet production schedules.
  8. Continuously evaluate equipment performance and recommend replacement, upgrades, or new purchases when necessary.


Position Requirements

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  2. 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance, preferably in asphalt or road construction.
  3. 2+ years in a supervisory or management role overseeing mechanics/technicians.
  4. Strong knowledge of asphalt paving and construction equipment (pavers, rollers, loaders, trucks, milling machines, etc.).
  5. Familiarity with fleet management systems and maintenance scheduling software.
  6. Understanding of DOT, OSHA, and MSHA safety regulations.
  7. Proven ability to lead and develop a team of mechanics and shop staff.
  8. Strong organizational and time-management skills to prioritize multiple service requests and projects.
  9. Experience managing equipment budgets, vendor relationships, and parts inventory.
