DOT Compliance Coordinator
POSITION SUMMARY
The DOT Compliance Coordinator ensures document integrity, driver qualification, and regulatory upkeep. The role acts as the first point of contact for routine driver questions and documentation needs, ensuring continuous audit readiness through diligent log monitoring and process verification.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Inspect driver logs to ensure compliance.
- Manage IFTA reporting and ensure Samba is updated.
- Provide support for HOS entries, telematics troubleshooting, and routine safety documentation.
- Maintain a balanced, collaborative environment where responsibilities can shift based on skill, experience, and operational needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years of experience in transportation compliance, fleet administration, or a related administrative role.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Experience reviewing driver logs, Hours of Service (HOS) entries, and maintaining driver qualification files.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and fleet management software (e.g., Samba).
- Experience assisting with International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) reporting and telematics troubleshooting.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to spot documentation errors.
COMMUNICATION
- Effectively and regularly communicate with the organizational staff across multiple departments.
- Support organizational values, principles, vision, and mission.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Lift up to 50lbs occasionally.
- Stand/walk/sit for up to 8 hours per day.
- Bend and Twist occasionally.
- Reach/work above shoulders occasionally.
- Fine manipulations frequently.
- Gross manipulation occasionally.
- Push/pull occasionally.
PAY RATE & SCHEDULE
- Pay Rate: $20-$25/ hour.
- Monday – Friday: 12:00pm – 8:00pm.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Typical Office Environment.
TRAVEL
- This position may require infrequent travel outside of the designated location.
POSITION TYPE
- This is a full-time non-exempt position.
RELOCATION
- Relocation expenses are not provided, and must be able to commute to our Holland, Michigan location on a regularly scheduled basis.
