Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Tableau Developer to contribute to product development and improvement. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and data visualizations that enable data-driven decision making. This role works closely with internal and external stakeholders, data engineers, and data scientists to transform complex datasets into clear, actionable insights. The ideal candidate will combine strong administrative skills with the ability to understand client needs and effectively communicate those needs to technical development team members.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Dashboard and Visualization Creation and Maintenance (80%)

  • Contribute directly to design and development of Informatics products.
  • Assist in maintaining and prioritizing product roadmaps.
  • Translate stakeholder needs and business questions into effective visual analytics solutions.
  • Optimize Tableau performance through efficient data modeling, extract, and query tuning.
  • Apply data visualization best practices to ensure clarity, usability, and consistency.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to define data requirements and improve data quality
  • Implement row-level security, permissions, and governance standards in Tableau Server/CloudTroubleshoot and resolve dashboard, data, and performance issuesDocument dashboard logic, data definitions, and development standardsSupport end users through training, documentation, and ongoing enhancements
 

Solutions design and engineering 20%)

  • Participate in factfinding sessions to understand specific client needs and recommend solutions.
  • Ensure internal understanding of client needs for bids or direct sales.
  • Ensure proposals align with determined needs.
 

 



Qualifications



Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in a field related to informatics, analytics, or technology.
  • Experience creating and deploying dashboards.
Technical Skills

  • Experience with Tableau Server or Tableau Could administration and deployment.
  • Proven experience developing dashboards and reports using Tableau Desktop.
  • Experience with Tableau API.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases and data warehouses.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Microsoft Project, Clickup, SmartSheet).
  • Basic understanding of technical terminology and concepts related to safety, security, IT infrastructure, data management, informatics, and analytics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in public safety, healthcare, education, or security sectors.
  • Experience with budget tracking and financial reporting tools
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements such as HIPAA, FERPA, CJIS, and other government security standards.
Working Conditions

  • Standard office environment with occasional travel to client sites and professional events
  • Ability to lift or move computer and office equipment up to 25 pounds
  • Flexibility to occasionally work outside standard business hours for urgent client needs and troubleshooting.
