Job Summary:
The Operations Intern will assist in tracking key performance metrics, evaluating downtime reduction opportunities, and supporting 5S audits and safety engagement initiatives. This role offers hands-on experience in process improvement, safety practices, and metrics reporting.
This internship is located onsite at American Rheinmetall's Plymouth, MI facility.
Essential Functions:
- Generate tracking tools for MOM/YOY reporting metrics.
- Develop and assist with 5S audits and event launches to improve workplace organization.
- Evaluate opportunities for downtime reduction and process efficiency.
- Support safety engagement initiatives to enhance workplace safety culture.
- Assist in developing tools and strategies to measure and improve operational performance.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No supervisory responsibility
Minimum Qualifications:
- Analytical skills to track and report key performance metrics.
- Knowledge of 5S methodology and process improvement techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to evaluate operational efficiencies.
- Interest in workplace safety and engagement initiatives.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive improvements.
Education & Experience
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High School Diploma or GED
Background Prerequisites:
Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, physical, and controlled substance testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with researching topics
- Previous employment with a focus on team-work
