Job Summary:
Assists the Material department in the coordination of expediting flow of materials, parts and assemblies between departments as well as supporting the procurement/distribution of materials parts, equipment and supplies for the organization.
This internship is located at the American Rheinmetall Plymouth, MI location.
Essential Functions:
- Assists in monitoring and controlling movement of materials through the Plex ERP system.
- Assists the Buyers of the (4) manufacturing plants in daily activities as necessary.
- Compile and maintain manual or computerized records such as material inventory, in process production reports, and status and location of materials.
- Assist in the coordination of all activities related to the procurement of a commodity starting with intent to purchase through delivery.
- Will aid in the solicitation and evaluation of proposals for the requested commodity.
- Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices and other documents to assure accurate retention of records.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No supervisory responsibility
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail in tracking certifications, orders, and compliance.
- Knowledge of procurement processes and supplier management.
- Ability to assist with process improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
- Familiarity with ITAR regulations and supplier compliance.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams.
Education & Experience
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High School diploma or GED
Background Prerequisites:
Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, physical, and controlled substance testing.
