POSITION SUMMARY
The Building Controls Project Manager is responsible for supporting the successful planning, execution, and delivery of projects by managing the Controls systems, such as Building Management Systems and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems in Mission Critical facilities. This role focuses on ensuring efficient resource allocation, schedule adherence, cost control, and design, while leveraging virtualized environments to streamline project workflows and enhance collaboration.
This is a full-time, site-based position that requires extensive travel to locations that span the continental U.S. Travel subsistence and additional incentives provided per company guidelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage Controls integration design process, contract document review, and field implementation
- Key member of the commissioning team as it pertains to Controls
- Act as a McCarthy liaison with owners commissioning agent, owner, and Controls subcontractors throughout duration of the project to ensure Controls systems are commissioned correctly and on schedule.
- Assist in schedule development for all Controls start-up, test & balance, BMS/EPMS, commissioning and related activities.
- Work with superintendents on project logistics and temporary facility requirements for your assigned subcontractors.
- Review and approve material and equipment for Controls systems prior to installation, monitoring the installation and start-up of systems.
- Communicate progress and prepare appropriate reports as needed, representing McCarthy at weekly owner's meetings.
- Oversee the manufacturers installation and operation verification, as well as vendor equipment control coordination/submittal review.
- OverseeControls Systems review, coordination, system start-up/checkout.
- Responsibilities related to participating in and supporting the preconstruction effort for Controls scopes on Mission Critical projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years experience in Construction/Controls design and coordination
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred
- Mission Critical experience highly preferred
- General knowledge of construction and design principles/practices required
- Thorough knowledge of all mechanical, plumbing, medium and low-voltage electrical systems
- General understanding of Buildingand Electrical Codes as they relate to construction
- Experienced working with Controls subcontracts and subcontractors
