How you will make an impact:

The Operations Manager is responsible for the performance of multi‑process manufacturing operations, including Embedded, Micro‑Optics, Coating, Inspection, Slitting, and Ink Mixing. This role provides leadership to ensure a safe work environment, consistent product quality, and reliable execution against customer demand. The position is accountable for driving operational performance through effective people leadership, daily management, and disciplined use of key metrics across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Cost, and Growth. As a member of the plant leadership team, the Operations Manager develops supervisory talent, optimizes flow and capacity, and leads continuous improvement initiatives to sustain a high‑performing manufacturing organization.

  • Ensure a safe working environment and promote a safety‑first culture across all operational areas
  • Execute production activities to meet customer requirements for quality, delivery, and inventory
  • Establish a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supporting systems to ensure product consistency and quality
  • Prioritize and manage flow through the plant to reduce lead times and improve customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate labor and schedule attainment in support of the Master Production Schedule
  • Monitor operational performance using key performance indicators and drive corrective actions as needed
  • Report operational metrics and escalating concerns with appropriate countermeasures to ensure alignment and awareness
  • Evaluate, analyze, and implement actions to reduce production costs and improve efficiency
  • Lead safety walks, safety meetings, and training activities to drive awareness and continuous improvement
  • Serve as a leader in quality assurance activities, including participation in technical reviews and driving corrective and preventive actions to timely completion
  • Establish performance expectations and measurable goals for supervisors and associates and provide regular feedback
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events, in support of the CI roadmap
  • Oversee disciplinary actions to ensure consistency, fairness, and early resolution of performance issues
  • Support strategy deployment activities and R&D projects, ensuring design for manufacturability and successful transition into manufacturing
  • Ensure consistency in training and development of associates, including cross‑training to support operational flexibility

Knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 10 years manufacturing experience or 5 years supervisor/manager experience
  • Ability to be flexible and effective in a fast-paced, high-tech manufacturing environment
  • Experience in lean manufacturing, 5S methods, CI leadership style
  • Strong written communication skills, with emphasis on the ability to create high quality technical reports, test reports, specifications and procedures
  • Possess superior skills in management of projects, time, self and other resources. Including prioritization, planning, goal setting and complex coordination of labor, daily activities and long-term objectives defined by the business
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing a lean manufacturing environment

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree
  • Six Sigma certification(s)
  • Experience with mentoring and/or coaching
  • Ability to write high-quality procedures and operational documentation
  • High attention for detail and pattern recognition (related to assessing metrics, trends and supporting root cause analysis)
