Lead Solution Architect

$94,831 - $128,022 - $161,213

SUMMARY: 

Leads efforts to help define and implement solutions quickly, efficiently, and cost effectively in order to enable the client to gain the maximum benefit from technology and quickly realize a return on investment. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Provides systems architectural/solution lead support to project and initiative-based efforts for relevant technical areas to increase efficiency and effectiveness for projects 

Leads the delivery of solutions that ensure compliance with enterprise architectural standards 

In a case where no enterprise architectural standard exists, leads the identification, documentation, and reporting of gaps and suggestions for development of standards to the attention of the Architecture Solutions Board 

Leads, develops and delivers technical architecture materials and ensures that relevant information is dispersed appropriately among the organization and key stakeholders in order to meet project milestones and tasks 

Functions as the primary point of contact for related technologies and provides early technical advice to projects and ultimately delivers complete technical designs to support the projects 

Presents proposed solutions, leveraging standard technologies, to project stakeholders and champions proposed architecture to gain concurrence, as needed 

Acts as key force in driving technical project architecture reviews 

Leads and manages project teams as needed 

COMPETENCIES: 

Demonstrated understanding of business and technology strategy and the ability to apply design architecture patterns which support consistent deployments 

In depth knowledge of technical architectural disciplines: business architecture, systems development lifecycle (SDLC), service oriented architecture (SOA), systems architecture and infrastructure, network and communications architecture, and web architecture 

In depth knowledge of virtualization strategies, object oriented and component based technologies, current and emerging integration tools, patterns, and frameworks, information and data modeling tools and techniques, and security controls and applicable data privacy practices and laws 

Knowledge of business intelligence (BI) strategies 

Ability to quickly grasp highly technical concepts 

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision 

Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills 

Ability to maintain positive and productive working relationships with various individuals and groups 

Highly motivated and proactive 

QUALIFICATIONS                    

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:  

Bachelors degree with six to seven years of experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline. 

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:  

Advanced communication skills      

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex business periodicals, professional journals, financial reports, and legal documents 

Demonstrated ability to prepare and lead presentations to all levels within the company in order to educate, influence, and contribute to strategic technical decisions 
                
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:   
                
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume 

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry 

COMPUTER SKILLS:    

Strong knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, project management, and diagramming software 

ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:  

Strong analytical skills.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 

DECISION MAKING: 

Makes decisions regarding evaluation and recommendations for project solutions.  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

Ability to sit up to 2/3 of the time and to stand, walk, and stoop up to 1/3 of the time.  Regularly required to sit, talk and listen for long periods of time.  Good vision and ability to adjust focus is required.  Manual dexterity is required.  Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  May be required to work significant amounts of overtime.  Some travel is required.
