What does a Bank Operations Representative do?

Bank Operations Representatives play a crucial role in the bank’s mission to fortify healthy financial lives by supporting a wide array of processes including the daily administration of customer money flow via Wire, ACH, Check, and Debit/ATM Card channels; maintain daily oversight of disputed transactions via these transaction channels; provide user access and maintenance support for customer Online Banking accounts; legal request response related to Subpoenas and other authorized information requests; account maintenance and fund remittance associated with IRS Levies and Legal Restraints; oversight and administration of customer contact information in various systems; maintaining the incoming and outgoing mail and parcels from the bank’s corporate headquarters; and other duties that support the operational safety, soundness, and efficiency of the bank.

What is needed to be successful in this role?

A high school diploma or high school equivalency preferred.One year customer service experience, prior Financial Industry experience strongly preferred. Excellent communication & interpersonal skills. A strong attention to detail.An ability to maintain exceptional agility in a fast-paced, continuously changing environment. Strong PC skills necessary to leverage general marketplace programs (such as Microsoft Office) and financial industry specific programs.Strong customer service experience. 
What does a successful first year in this position look like? 

Initial department assignment will be on the Legal and Mail Administration Team, which is responsible for the following core functions:Administration of bank customer contact information. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring contact information is consistent across the bank’s systems, ensuring appropriate support for customer profile changes has been collected, and resolving errors or formatting inconsistencies found during address cleansing processes.Ensures the effective processing of incoming and outgoing mail for the Canandaigua Headquarters Campus. This includes, but is not limited to, sorting and distributing incoming mail and packages, administering delivery of items between bank locations via courier, acting on mail returned to sender by letter and parcel carriers, outgoing mail postage metering and staging, and supporting all members of the organization with mail and shipping options utilizing the bank’s letter and parcel vendors.Performs various processes related to the Legal and Record Research obligations of the bank. This includes, but is it limited to, collection and submission of records, as legally authorized, in response to Subpoenas, information requests from customers, federal and state agencies, and other third parties; processing account restraint and levies, including system maintenance and fund remittance as authorized by law.Perform various processes that ensure appropriate controls over customer and account records.Participates in various other operational tasks such as the collection and remittance of municipal taxes, IRS form generation and reporting, reception and entry management of the Canandaigua Operations Center, and other document and records management processes.
Over time, individuals in this role will be exposed to other core functions of the department, which may include, but is not limited, to ACH processing, Check processing, Wire processing, support of bank customer electronic access to accounts and funds via Online Banking and Debit/ATM cards, and various other duties that support sound operational controls for the organization.What makes working at Canandaigua National Bank different?

Compensation range- $18.00-$20.00
The actual salary offered within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, level offered, and performance expectations.
