The Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Zero Trust provides senior-level cybersecurity expertise supporting the design, development, and integration of enterprise Zero Trust capabilities. Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior Subject Matter Expert on Zero Trust architecture, strategy, and implementation across enterprise environments.
- Conduct architecture reviews, technical assessments, and security engineering evaluations in support of Zero Trust adoption.
- Advise on alignment with federal cybersecurity requirements, including NIST guidance, OMB Zero Trust directives, and agency-specific frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with network, cloud, cybersecurity, and identity management teams to guide integration of Zero Trust capabilities.
- Provide expert recommendations on segmentation, identity governance, continuous authentication, and policy enforcement.
- Support the development of technical documentation, roadmaps, standards, and implementation plans.
- Participate in stakeholder and leadership briefings to communicate Zero Trust progress and risk considerations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be a US citizen with an active Public Trust (MBI) clearance. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.10+ years of professional experience in IT and/or cybersecurity.Active CISSP certification.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting federal government cybersecurity programs.Hands-on experience with Zero Trust technologies (e.g., identity federation, microsegmentation, network access control, continuous monitoring).Knowledge of NIST SP 800207, NIST RMF, and related federal cybersecurity guidance.Strong communication skills with the ability to advise technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
