Responsibilities
The Damage Prevention Specialist plays a critical role in preventing utility damages by serving as a liaison between homeowners, contractors, and the gas utility. This position promotes safe excavation practices, ensures accurate utility markings, and supports compliance with state 811 dig laws. Key ResponsibilitiesPromote and enforce safe digging practices in accordance with state 811 dig lawsVisit active job sites using a company-provided vehicle to communicate with contractors and homeowners regarding safe excavation proceduresCoordinate and facilitate corrections or updates to gas utility markings as neededPerform quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of utility markingsAccurately document daily activities, observations, and field findingsAssist with identifying marked utilities, structures, and map information in the fieldPerform operator-level maintenance on assigned company tools and equipmentComplete other related duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Experience with locating gas utilities highly preferredValid driver's licenseWork outdoors under the full range of weather conditions typically experienced throughout all seasons of the yearProficient communication verbal and written communication
