About the Role

At DHL, we are seeking a Senior Payroll Manager to lead end-to-end U.S. payroll operations supporting ~60,000 employees. This role requires a seasoned professional with strong leadership, multi-state payroll experience, and deep expertise in compliance, systems, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, oversee, and ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery for a multi-state workforce.
  • Manage a team of ~12 (supervisors, team leads, processors).
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on payroll audits, taxes, garnishments, internal controls, and compliance.
  • Monitor KPIs, trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee payroll systems (ADP Vantage, Kronos/UKG) including upgrades and enhancements.
  • Partner closely with HR, Finance, IT, and external vendors.
  • Support retirement plan administration and complex payroll elements.
  • Remain hands-on during high-importance processing cycles.

Work Conditions

  • Hybrid model: Week A = 3 days onsite; Week B = 2 days onsite.
  • Salary range: $135,000 – $140,000 USD. + Annual Bonus

Must-Have Requirements

  • 10+ years U.S. payroll experience with multi-state complexity.
  • Strong leadership experience managing payroll teams.
  • Expertise with ADP Vantage and familiarity with Kronos/UKG.
  • Strong understanding of payroll tax, garnishments, audits, and compliance.
  • Analytical mindset with KPI management experience.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

  • CPP certification.
  • Spanish language skills.
  • Experience working with unionized employee groups.
  • Background in large-scale enterprise environments (10k+ employees).
