Your strategic guidance will be pivotal in optimizing global payroll operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the end-to-end payroll process for a global workforce across multiple regions, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Asia.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and international payroll tax laws and regulations.
- Oversee the preparation, processing, and reconciliation of payroll, including base pay, bonuses, and other compensation elements.
- Manage payroll-related reporting, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to regulatory authorities.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to support business needs, implement best practices, and enhance the employee experience.
- Lead and mentor the payroll team, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
- Manage payroll systems, software, and technology platforms to support payroll processing and reporting. Evaluate and implement enhancements to payroll systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and data integrity.
- Lead projects to automate and integrate HCM system (e.g. Workday), ERP system (e.g. SAP 4/Hana), and ADP payroll (e.g. Celergo / Global View), ensuring optimal use of technology to streamline payroll operations.
- Handle escalated payroll issues, ensuring prompt resolution and maintaining a high level of employee satisfaction.
- Stay up to date on changes in payroll laws, tax regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Analyze current payroll procedures to recommend and implement improvements that streamline processes, enhance accuracy, and reduce processing time.
- Prepare and oversee payroll audits, both internal and external.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred).
- 15+ years of experience in payroll management, with extensive experience in multi-state and global payroll operations.
- Expertise in international payroll tax regulations
- Proven experience managing payroll for hourly and salaried populations.
- Preferred Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification.
- Proficiency with ADP payroll systems.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing payroll team.
