Service Sales Representative Oliver Fire Protection & Security
This role is responsible for generating revenue through inspection-generated repair proposals, central station fire alarm monitoring, and incoming service needs from both new and existing customers. You will work closely with our Inspections Department, Service Teams, and Fire Alarm Service Manager to deliver accurate proposals, respond to customer needs, and strengthen long-term client relationships.
This is a key position within our fire alarm operations. You will serve as a knowledgeable resource for customers navigating repair needs, code requirements, and system performance concerns. Your ability to understand technical issues, communicate solutions clearly, and guide customers through corrective actions directly contributes to life safety and code compliance in the buildings we protect. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and skilled at turning customer needs into well-defined solutions that reflect Oliver’s commitment to quality and service excellence.
• Develop and deliver accurate proposals for inspection-generated fire alarm repair work
• Sell central station fire alarm monitoring services to new and existing customers
• Respond to and close incoming service opportunities, ensuring customer needs are met promptly
• Initiate, nurture, and close sales opportunities within assigned customer accounts and territories
• Identify opportunities to expand customer engagement and communicate needs to leadership
• Build and maintain strong relationships with property managers, building owners, facility teams, and contractors
• Achieve assigned sales quotas while following company processes, pricing, and operational standards
• Ensure proposals and customer interactions reflect Oliver’s commitment to quality, accuracy, and exceptional service
Education:
• High school diploma required
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience:
• 1 to 3 years of proven sales experience in the fire protection or low-voltage industry OR
• 1 to 3 years of successful technical sales experience
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
• Working knowledge of fire alarm systems, major industry brands, and competitive offerings
• Familiarity with applicable codes and standards: IBC, NFPA 72, NEC (NFPA 70), NFPA 101
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
• Highly motivated, goal oriented, and skilled at overcoming objections and closing sales
• Ability to work independently, manage a diverse workload, and adapt to a variety of customer situations
• Valid driver’s license
• Successful completion of a background check and pre-employment drug screening
