We are currently searching for a Payroll Analyst to assist the Payroll team in our Pittsburgh, PA location. Under direction of the Controller, the Payroll Analyst will ensure employees in all of the Firm's jurisdictions are paid accurately and timely by verifying payroll data and processing related payrolls in our HRIS/Payroll system (UKG), while ensuring tax and other regulatory compliance. This role will also maintain payroll records, generate reports, resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all Firm payrolls by verifying time and attendance records, reviewing and processing payroll changes including new hires, terminations, and promotions, and ensuring accurate calculations for gross pay, overtime, deductions, and benefits.
  • Maintain accurate and complete payroll records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll information to stakeholders via feeds or reports, ensuring accuracy and consistency of formatting and information.
  • Ensure all payroll activities adhere to federal, state, and local payroll laws, tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and company policies.
  • Troubleshoot payroll discrepancies, resolve record inconsistencies, and address employee inquiries regarding payroll and related tax documents.
  • Work closely with other Firm departments to resolve payroll issues and ensure accurate data exchange.
  • Support internal and external audits and participate in year-end processes such as preparing W-2 forms.
  • Assist with the administration, testing, and implementation of payroll-related systems and processes.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Five (5+) or more years of payroll processing experience, preferably with a professional service firm.
  • Certified Payroll Professional or related certification a plus.
  • Proficiency with automated payroll programs. UKG experience a plus.
  • Ability to handle sensitive employee information with the utmost confidentiality and discretion in accordance with policy and best practices.
  • Solid understanding of payroll related processes, tax laws, wage and hour laws and compliance requirements in a Firm with multiple multi-jurisdictional payrolls.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities. Demonstrates the desire and ability to research answers and propose solutions.
  • Ability to plan, organize, manage and execute multiple, simultaneous responsibilities, meeting regulatory and Firm deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate ideas and explain issues effectively with team members of all levels.
  • Desire to work collaboratively with team members and willingness to contribute to a team environment.
