The Slavic, East European, and Near Eastern Summer Language Institute (SLI) seeks an instructor of Ukrainian for the summer of 2026.
Instructors will teach a 6-week intensive course during SLI's summer session, which runs from June 1 to July 10. Classes meet five days a week from 9 am to 2:50 pm. In addition to classroom teaching, instructors are expected to help plan cultural programming for their language program and attend events for the whole institute, such as film and lecture series, workshops, and picnics. SLI will be conducted in an in-person format on the main campus of the University of Pittsburgh.
Applicants must have a master's degree in the language they will teach or a related field and experience teaching in a college or university setting using the communicative approach or other proficiency-based methods.
