Job Summary
Performs a variety of independent and complex laboratory work and experiments. Analyzes and interprets data, compiles results, and prepares reports. Maintains inventory, ordering, and logs. Writes manuscripts and grant proposals and prepares data visualizations.
Essential Functions
The Keogh lab studies mechanisms of bacterial pathogenesis during diabetic wound infections. We utilize murine models, cell culture, and advanced molecular techniques with the aim to define bacterial-host interactions during diabetic wound infections. We are seeking a Laboratory Research Technician IV to join our team. The ideal candidate will be familiar with molecular biology techniques including bacterial cloning, cell-based assays, protocol development and management, murine and cell culture work. Further, we seek to hire an individual who will assist in training and mentoring other individuals in the lab.
- Key responsibilities include performing and overseeing molecular experiments including DNA/RNA extractions, PCR, and ELISAs. Conducting murine studies on diabetic wound infection including sample collection (wound and kidneys), tissue processing, and protocol maintenance and development. Establishment and maintenance of epithelial and immune cell cultures. Maintenance of an electronic lab notebook and ability to organize data of presentation and publication quality. Supporting the PI and all trainees in protocol management/ training, data analysis and interpretation. Management of lab inventory, ordering, compliance, safety protocols, and safety inspection.

Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time, lift up to 20 lbs.
