Job Summary


The University of Pittsburgh Department of Neurological Surgery is hiring a Paid Visiting Scholar.

The projects for which you are responsible include collaborative projects in identifying imaging biomarkers specific to traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury. This includes but is not limited to, recruiting and enrolling patients into studies, imaging techniques, and analyzing and interpreting data. You will be responsible for providing regular updates to collaborators/senior scientists. You will be responsible for coordinating with IRBs and collecting prospective and retrospective data on neurosurgical patients. You will be responsible for coordinating inter-institutional studies. You will oversee the institutional registry of patient-reported outcome measures for all spine inpatients. Additional responsibilities include manuscript writing, grant writing, mentorship of lab members, and any other tasks designated by the PI.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Science or MD and have experience in basic neuroscience with translational potential, with a strong emphasis on data and statistical analysis, scientific writing, grant preparation, and team building.
