The Aging Institute within the Department of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Financial Supervisor who will be responsible for supervising the Aging Institute's day to day operations in the area of financial management, accounting, purchasing and contracts with a focus on streamlining processes to ensure efficient operations. The Financial Supervisor will be responsible for:
- account management, account reconciliation, and expense monitoring
- managing monthly billing activities for the recharge center
- approving purchase orders and executing vendor agreements
- developing and implementing business methods, procedures, and reporting to improve operational efficiency.
This role will also train Institute personnel on purchasing, contracts, agreements, and expense reporting to ensure compliance with University policies and grant regulations, as well as establish and maintain administrative databases.
Job Summary
Supervises the day-to-day business operations of a small University academic unit. Enacts short- and long-range plans. Improves overall efficiencies, negotiates and approves agreements, and facilitates human resources actions.
Essential Functions
Background in finance or accounting. Strong mathematical skills. Strong Excel skills. Must be experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, Concur, Panther Express and Contracts+
Work Arrangement:
This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement following successful completion of the provisional period
Physical Effort
Must be able to move swiftly between office spaces; be able to lift and carry 15 pounds.
