Temporary Benefits Administrator

Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney is a national law firm with a proven reputation for providing progressive, industry-leading legal, business, regulatory and government relations advice to our regional, national and international clients.

We are currently searching for an experienced Benefits Administrator to temporarily assist our Pittsburgh corporate location. This position will be responsible for day-to-day operations involving the Firm’s health and welfare benefits programs.

Hybrid Schedule available for this role.

Specific Responsibilities of Position include:

  • Administer the Firm’s benefit plans by handling the day-to-day operational processes including benefits communications, new enrollments, terminations, COBRA, and status changes.
  • Coordinate and process employee leaves for Short/Long-Term Disability, State Disabilities, State Family Leaves, Worker’s Comp and FMLA in accordance with Firm guidelines and applicable federal and state laws.
  • Track leaves using Excel and HRIS system (UKG) and ensure appropriate communication regarding start, duration, extensions, and return to work dates.
  • Distribute, complete, submit and file appropriate documentation.
  • Communicate with vendors and employees to keep abreast of leave statuses.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Benefits and Compensation, or a related discipline, or 5+ years of experience in large law firm or corporate benefit plan administration.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of legal requirements regarding benefit plan administration.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of benefits programs such as COBRA, FMLA, state disability requirements, etc.
  • Prior experience with UKG highly preferred.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and process a large volume of documentation within a given time frame.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Details:

  • 40 hours per week (Exempt)
  • 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • Approximately 90 day assignment
  • $35.00 – 45.00 per hour based on experience
