POSITION SUMMARY:
The Service Navigator for the agency’s Fatherhood FORGE program functions as a service coordinator for participants in the community who are enrolled in the agency’s FORGE programming. This role is essential in helping participants build brighter futures through employment training, job readiness, financial empowerment, and delivery of responsible parenting curriculum. This position coordinates services with other Goodwill programs and community partners to ensure seamless service delivery. The Service Navigator is responsible for providing advocacy (when necessary), full scope case planning, job placement services and facilitation of responsible parenting curriculum to educate and support participants in achieving their goals. This team is expected to split their work between agency and community partner sites so reliable transportation will be essential in this role.
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain Individualized Service Plan (ISPs) to monitor progress, document support services, collect identity verification and release of information, and update the plan(s) as needed.
- Interview participants to assess their situations, capabilities, and problems to determine what services may be required to meet their needs.
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate records for all participant cases, meeting timelines as specified by contract and management.
- Maintain accurate, complete and up-to-date records, including but not limited to training providers and program details, placement rates, length of services, etc. as required by laws, policies, guidelines, and administrative or program regulations to ensure compliance, including any requested documentation of assessment results and service delivery outcomes.
- Establish periodic check-ins with participants, including appropriate interdisciplinary team members, to ensure job retention is met and/or assist in further job seeking.
- Participate in the recruitment of potential program participants and assist in completion of enrollment paperwork, as appropriate.
- Promote participants’ employability by partnering with divisional departments (such as Business Relations) to cultivate and sustain employer partnerships that generate job opportunities aligned with participants’ interests, skills, and abilities.
- Partner with participants to create a resume and cover letter(s), search for jobs, practice interview skills, and address barriers to employment.
- Organize events to promote fatherhood and healthy relationship activities.

Location: Lawrenceville Workforce Development Center - 118 52nd Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15201
External Hiring Range: $20.75-20.87/hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday (8:00am – 4:00pm) Schedule can vary depending on department needs.
Travel Required: Occasional travel may be required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma AND 6 years of experience required. OR
- Associate's degree AND 4 years experience required
- Bachelor’s degree AND 0-2 years experience required.
Required Education: Social Service, Education or Related
Required Experience:
- Prior experience in locating community & social services for at-risk, vulnerable adult populations.
- A combination of case management, and/or curriculum driven program facilitation and/or employment readiness, placement, and job retention services.
- Use of database and/or case management software to enter and track participant and program progress.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior completion of Healthy Marriage & Responsible Fatherhood (HMRF) programing who exemplifies potential as a future fatherhood leader.
REQUIRED CLEARANCES, LICENSES, AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Qualified candidates must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local travel.
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion and approval of all required clearances, including Child Abuse, FBI Fingerprints, and PATCH, prior to the start date.
