Pitt.Labs is a university-wide translational platform designed to accelerate biomedical innovation by connecting faculty expertise and research cores with external partners through structured, fee-for-service programs that expand institutional reach and impact. The Program Director, Pitt.Labs Operations will play a central leadership role in building and scaling this enterprise, translating strategic vision into high-performing operational systems, measurable outcomes, and sustainable service delivery models. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director will oversee program planning and execution, financial stewardship, compliance oversight, and cross-functional coordination while strengthening engagement with industry and other external organizations. This position is critical to shaping the operational infrastructure that supports revenue-generating services, enhances quality and responsiveness, and enables Pitt.Labs to function as a disciplined, growth-oriented translational enterprise within the Health Sciences.

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a strategic and operationally driven Program Director to lead operations for Pitt.Labs, a university-wide translational enterprise focused on delivering fee-for-service biomedical capabilities to external partners. This role is central to building and scaling the operational infrastructure that connects faculty expertise and research cores with industry and institutional clients. The successful candidate will report to the Executive Director of Pitt.Labs and work closely with Health Sciences leadership, faculty innovators, research cores, and administrative partners to ensure high-quality, compliant, and sustainable service delivery.


Job Summary

Oversees planning and execution of one or more programs and defines program scope, goals, and strategic objectives. Designs programs that satisfy the University's mission and diverse populations. Performs budgetary functions and approves program budgets, maintains accurate records of program progress, and conducts administrative tasks. Represents the organization and ensures all activities comply with University policies and legal guidelines.
