The Department of Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a postdoctoral associate in Neuroscience to begin 05/01/2026. Applicants must have a background in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell biology, or Neuroscience with a PhD in an applicable field.

The successful Candidate will work with members of the Hale laboratory to determine the structure and functional relationships of synaptic ion channel complexes. Minimum requirements include mammalian cell culture, bacterial cell culture, DNA plasmid preparation, SDS PAGE, western blot, protein purification, light microscopy, fluorescence microscopy, data analysis, scientific writing, and figure preparation. Preferred qualifications include purification of membrane proteins, x-ray crystallography, cryoEM, NMR, primary neuron culture, electrophysiology of whole cells or individual channels.
