Job Summary
Represents the University in new student recruitment and participates in the evaluation of applicants. Participates in recruitment activities and projects, both in and out of state.
Essential Functions
- Oversees and coordinates day-to-day operational aspects of OAFA’s visitor engagement team.
- Develops and implements strategies to recruit potential applicants to Pitt.
- Responds and interacts with prospective students, applicants, University alumni, guidance counselors, and others seeking information on admissions standards, academic and non-academic programs, and student activities following established procedures and precedents.
- Resolves complex problems as necessary (i.e. danger to the guests that arise on a visit, malfunctioning equipment, or trouble shooting answers to tough questions).
- Implements recruitment activities such as conducting information sessions in-person, on- and off-campus, and virtually.
- Assists with coordinating prospective students with current students to increase affinity for the University.
- Responds to communications promptly and with professional customer-service skills.
Physical Effort
Mobility with regard to possible travel within the United States is essential and a requirement for successful performance in this position. Valid driver’s license and passport are required. May be required to carry a box of material (up to 50 lbs.) from car and/or from building to building or between floors.
