| Position Summary: | Why work at Villanova?
The Theology & Religious Studies Department of Villanova University seeks candidates for a continuing non-tenure track position as an assistant teaching professor. Candidates must specialize in theology and religious studies and demonstrate present or potential engagement with the Catholic and broader Christian intellectual traditions. Successful candidates will have a clear commitment to advancing the University’s mission and values. Responsibilities include a 4/4 teaching load ( THL 1000 is the primary course) and service for the program. Faculty have an opportunity to teach elective courses and graduate courses, based upon qualifications and departmental need. While there is no research expectation, faculty are expected to remain current in their field of expertise. A Ph.D. or Th.D. should be in hand by August 1, 2026. There is a promotion process for faculty in this position.
