First Shift 7am-3:30pm
Position Summary:
• The industrial spray painter will spray surfaces of manufactured products with protective material such as enamel or epoxy.
• Essential Functions:
• Selecting and mixing coating paints to desired color and prepare spraying equipment such as cleaning or adjusting spray guns.
• Willingness to take direction from area lead and follow that direction and to be a self-starter when not working under direct supervision.
• Be capable of reading and understanding technical documents such as paint mixing procedures and maintaining sprayer equipment as required.
• Have the ability and desire to become efficient with painting techniques, meet company productivity rates, maintain mil thickness, and learn all aspects of job as required.
• Cleaning spraying equipment with solvent or other recommended cleaning solutions daily.
• Maintaining the paint mix room while following the company safety policies.
• Maintaining proper respirator care and operation and using the breathing air supply system when spraying epoxy paints.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Experience with and understanding of safe operation with electrical assemblies
• Able to read mechanical and electrical drawings
• Good math and reading skills
• Skills to effectively manage time and meet all necessary deadlines
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated dependability
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally
• Demonstrated adherence to all safety regulations
Environment:
• Manufacturing facility
• Requires employee to spend the majority of his or her time on foot, lifting, bending, standing and carrying items
• Steel toe shoes are required
Education:
• High school diploma or GED
Assembler—Utility - Paint
• 2 year or 4 year degree in a specialized area a plus
Supervisory responsibilities:
• None specifically associated with this position
