SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Machinist.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Summary: SEACORP is seeking a Machinist for our Electronic Warfare division at our Middletown, RI headquarters. The Machinist will be responsible for interpreting written instructions and specifications and engineering drawings; planning and laying out of work; using a variety of machinist’s tools and precision measuring instruments; setting up and operating standard machine tools; shaping of metal parts to close tolerances; making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds of machining; knowledge of the working properties of the common metals; selecting standard materials, parts, and equipment required for this work; and fitting and assembling parts into mechanical equipment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Produces replacement parts and new parts.
- Setup and run manual milling machines and engine lathes.
- Basic 3 axis computer numerical controlled milling using conversational controllers.
- Read and interpret blueprints and hand sketches.
- Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerance dimensions.
- Inspect parts dimensionally with tools such as calipers and micrometers.
Familiarity with solidworks and Mastercam a plus.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma/GED required.
Experience: 2 years of relevant experience required.
As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Tool Room / Multipurpose Room - The position requires the following physical activities: Standing and walking for extended periods of time. Use of machine tools and equipment which may require PPE. Significant use of hands to operate equipment and tools. Significant lifting of <40 lbs.; occasional lifting >40 lbs. Daily use of computers, including use of a mouse and keyboard as well as the viewing of computer screens. Sitting, stooping, bending, twisting, reaching and squatting on a daily basis. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions for temperature and lighting. Variable air and elevated noise conditions based on operation of machinery, as well as welding or painting equipment. Personal Protective Equipment: safety shoes, hearing protection and safety glasses are required at all times; respirator or welding helmet required based on work being performed.
