Role Overview

The Leasing Associate will play a key role in supporting EDENS’ leasing and investment initiatives across the Pacific Region spanning the San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco metropolitan areas. This hybrid role blends market research, tenant strategy, financial analysis, and cross-functional collaboration, offering exposure to acquisitions, leasing, development, capital markets, and investment management. This position is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and is eager to grow within the commercial real estate industry. This position will be based in San Francisco or Los Angeles.

Key Responsibilities

Leasing & Market Strategy

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of retailers, restaurants, and brokers throughout Northern and Southern California.
  • Identify best-in-class local and regional tenants, including digitally native brands, and provide weekly updates to the team.
  • Organize monthly retailer/broker engagement events.
  • Support leasing team with prospective tenant lists and prospecting.
  • Aid in the management and coordination of third-party brokers
  • Participate in lease negotiations and development/project meetings to learn EDENS’ process.

Investments & Financial Analysis

  • Assist with financial modeling, underwriting, and due diligence for acquisitions, dispositions, and redevelopment opportunities.
  • Contribute to investor relations materials, including quarterly reports and board presentations.
  • Support equity and debt financing efforts, including joint ventures and corporate-level capital strategies.
  • Analyze property-level performance metrics, sustainability initiatives, and expense recoveries.

Development & Strategy

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support acquisition, merchandising and leasing strategies.
  • Participate in project management tasks including pro forma modeling, leasing progress tracking, and investor updates.
  • Serve as our boots-on-the ground representative for ad hoc development, redevelopment, leasing and acquisition needs.
  • Research consumer trends and retailer growth strategies to inform deal sourcing and execution.

Qualifications/Further Descriptions

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year institution.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in real estate, finance, or related fields.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail, strong memory capacity, and creative problem-solving ability.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Willingness to travel and spend significant time canvassing markets.
  • No specific property assignments or eligibility for leasing commissions.
