CNC Machining & Process Development

  • Develop, optimize, and validate on machine metrology process for milling operations

  • Collaborate with programmers, machinists, and Quality Engineers to integrate probing, laser scanning, and panametrics cycles into machining workflows

  • Improve machining processes using data-driven feedback from in-process measurements

In-Process Metrology (Primary Focus)

  • Implement and maintain on-machine probing systems using Hexagon AB technologies (e.g., probes, sensors, software)

  • Program and troubleshoot measurement routines using tools like PC-DMIS and machine-integrated probing cycles

  • Capture critical feature data during machining (dimensions, position, form, etc.)

  • Establish closed-loop machining processes using real-time measurement feedback

Inspection & Quality Assurance

  • Define inspection strategies for in-process and final verification

  • Interpret GD&T and ensure compliance with engineering drawings

  • Support root cause analysis for nonconformances using measurement data

  • Coordinate with quality teams to ensure alignment between CMM and on-machine inspection

Data & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop dashboards or reports to monitor key quality metrics

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce variation and scrap

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 3+ years of CNC machining experience (milling preferred)

  • Hands-on experience with on-machine probing and metrology systems

  • Proficiency with PC-DMIS or similar metrology software

  • Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Hexagon AB metrology solutions (e.g., probing systems, CMM integration)

  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM tools (e.g., Catia, Siemens NX, Mastercam)

  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and process capability analysis

  • Experience with deployment of on machine metrology solutions in an aerospace environment
