JOB SUMMARY:

The Investigator reviews allegations of suspected theft/fraud and is responsible for interviewing individuals with information relevant to such matters, analyzing documentation, and reporting findings. This position works closely with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies and may collaborate with other investigators on assigned cases. Responsibilities include evidence collection, transaction research, interviewing victims and witnesses, reviewing video and audio recordings, and preparing comprehensive investigative reports. The Investigator must possess strong investigative techniques, sound judgment, and a solid understanding of legal processes. This position requires demonstrated experience in eliciting information, conducting structured interviews, and/or performing interrogations within a professional, corporate, or investigative environment. A successful Investigator consistently drives results through obtaining admissions, supporting monetary recovery, enabling criminal prosecution when appropriate, and reducing fraud and theft across the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

•Review claims data and determine validity.

•Perform detailed site inspections of ATM locations and supporting environments.

•Conduct extensive and confidential investigations of alleged theft or fraud.

•Interview individuals with potential knowledge regarding theft or fraud allegations.

•Conduct background checks, employee investigations, and asset searches on suspected perpetrators utilizing public data systems such as LexisNexis, Transunion, and Human Resources records.

•Analyze documentation including video/audio footage, investigative notes, victim statements, and financial records.

•Prepare detailed written investigative reports and present findings to management.

•Engage with victims, law enforcement agencies, financial institutions, and court personnel during active investigations.

•Provide testimony in civil or criminal proceedings when required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

•Bachelor's degree in criminology, criminal justice, finance, or a related field; equivalent professional investigative experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

•Preferred two years of experience conducting fraud, theft, or internal investigations within government, law enforcement, corporate security, or financial institutions.

•Strong understanding of applicable federal, state, and local laws governing investigations and evidence handling.

•Proficiency in analytical tools, report writing software, and investigative research platforms.

•Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to navigate sensitive and high-stress situations professionally.

•Proven experience conducting elicitation, structured interviewing, and/or interrogation in a professional, corporate, or investigative setting.
