Overview
Position: Application Engineering Intern (Summer 2026)
Location: Houston, TX
Academic Schedule: May – August 2026 (full-time, 40 hours per week, 12-15 week internship)
During your ITT internship, you will conduct various engineering projects in one or more areas of Engineering. Interns will also have exposure to and learn various aspects of Engineering practices in these areas during the course of a twelve-to-fifteen-week experience. Our ITT interns also participate in our summer Career Readiness programming which provides professional development and networking opportunities that will equip you with the skill sets required to successfully transition from college to career.
Responsibilities
- Support centrifugal pump selection and assist with proposal generation
- Review and interpret customer specifications
- Develop understanding of pump mechanics and overall pump operation
- Participate in special projects focused on process improvements
- Gain exposure to manufacturing processes related to pump production
- Complete training in Pump Fundamentals (Pumps 101)
- Learn to read and interpret pump curves
- Build knowledge of pump anatomy and common pump symptoms
- Develop understanding of pump hydraulics and system curves
Qualifications
- Junior or Senior undergraduate student in the areas of mechanical or industrial engineering
