This individual will work closely with managers across the organization to improve processes, increase efficiency, and eliminate waste through structured continuous improvement practices.

Key Responsibilities

    Partner with business and operational leaders to translate corporate objectives into actionable initiatives.Lead continuous improvement (CI) efforts using Lean, Six Sigma, SIMA, or similar methodologies.Facilitate process mapping, workflow optimization, and value stream analysis to streamline operations.Identify inefficiencies and eliminate waste across teams and processes.Guide data¿driven root cause analysis and develop sustainable solutions.Support change management, communication, and adoption of new processes across the business.Provide reporting, dashboards, and progress updates to leadership.

Strategic & Collaborative

    Strong ability to work hand¿in¿hand with managers and cross¿functional teams.Skilled at aligning local activities with corporate goals and performance metrics.
Continuous Improvement Expert

    Experience with Lean, Six Sigma (SIG/SIMA a plus), Kaizen, or other CI frameworks.Comfortable coaching teams and facilitating improvement events.
Process Optimization Focus

    Proficient in process mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart, Miro).Ability to design efficient future¿state workflows and standard operating procedures.
Efficiency & Waste Reduction

    Proven experience removing non¿value¿added activities and improving cycle times, cost, quality, or service.Strong analytical mindset with a bias toward measurable outcomes.
Preferred Skills & Certifications

    Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt (preferred).Experience with process mapping, value stream mapping, and SOP documentation.Understanding of strategy deployment tools such as OKRs, Hoshin Kanri, or KPI frameworks.Excellent communication, facilitation, and problem¿solving skills.

Manager, Strategic Business & Continuous Improvement
Salary Grade: G05

$94,831 - $128,022 - $161,213

SUMMARY: 

Under general supervision, leads organizational process improvement projects, data analytic projects, and/or initiatives focusing on measuring, analyzing and improving department and business performance by initiating or capturing project requirements, executing the project meeting these requirements, and successfully closing out.  Provides strategic recommendations and decision making support to business unit leadership.  Works with peers and department leadership to design, develop and deploy metrics and data analytics to maximize the benefits to the Business Unit.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages multiple medium to large scale, complex, high profile projects from initiation through completion, monitoring progress, status, and risk using appropriate project management methods
  • Utilizes Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement tools to lead initiatives that identify inefficiencies, analyze root causes, and drive improvements in cost, quality, productivity, and overall business performance
  • Matrix manages and facilitates collaboration across cross functional teams, ensuring accountability and successful delivery of measurable outcomes
  • Provides leadership in statistical analysis, modeling, and business analytics; analyzes, interprets, and summarizes data to recommend action plans and support strategic decision making
  • Designs, develops, and deploys metrics, dashboards, and feedback loops to support performance monitoring, organizational health assessment, and continuous improvement
  • Develops and implements change management strategies; coaches leaders and teams on communication, stakeholder engagement, and adoption of new processes, technologies, and organizational changes
  • Serves as a change agent, guiding teams through business transformations, process changes, technology implementations, and strategic initiatives using tools such as ADKAR, Kotter's 8 Step Model, impact assessments, stakeholder analysis, and communication/training plans
  • Recommends, implements, and drives changes to business systems and processes to align people, operations, and structure with organizational goals
  • Represents the company at forums and conferences

QUALIFICATIONS                   

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university with six to seven years of related experience with project mining, consulting, and fundamental analysis, or equivalent combination of education and experience related to the discipline.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must possess current, legally valid driver¿ license and meet the Company's driving record requirements.
One or any combination of the following types of certifications is preferred: Six Sigma, Lean, CIS, or CQA.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
May be responsible for matrix management of internal and external staff assigned to projects and initiatives under management.  May provide input regarding team members performance to their direct supervisors.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:                 
Ability to express complex ideas in simple terms
Ability to negotiate and gain consensus on the cross functional project team simultaneously meeting the needs of all stakeholders
Strong communication skills to explain and discuss interpretations of business and analytical models

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to sit up to 2/3 of the time and to stand, walk, and stoop up to 1/3 of the time.  Good vision and ability to adjust focus is required.  Manual dexterity is required.  Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  Frequent and extensive travel is required.
