Application Instructions:

Sterling Infrastructure is looking for an IT Technical Project Manager in The Woodlands, TX.

At Sterling Infrastructure, we don’t just deliver projects — we build the systems and technology that power some of the most complex infrastructure organizations in the country. We’re looking for a Technical Project Manager who thrives at the intersection of technology, business, and execution.

If you love untangling complexity, leading cross-functional teams, and driving large-scale initiatives (including M&A integrations), this is a role where you’ll make a visible impact from day one.

Why Sterling?

Sterling Infrastructure offers the opportunity to work on meaningful, high-visibility initiatives in a company that’s growing, evolving, and investing in its technology. You’ll be trusted to lead, encouraged to think strategically, and supported by a collaborative IT organization.

Why This Role Is Exciting

  1. You’ll lead high-impact, enterprise-level technology projects that directly support business growth
  2. You’ll partner closely with IT leadership, business stakeholders, and Mergers & Acquisitions teams
  3. You’ll own projects end-to-end — from discovery through delivery — not just track tasks
  4. You’ll influence outcomes without direct authority, working with smart, motivated teams

Position_Description :

What You’ll Do

  1. Lead and deliver complex technical projects on time, on budget, and aligned with business goals
  2. Serve as the bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders — translating needs into executable solutions
  3. Drive project planning, execution, and reporting using Agile and ITIL methodologies
  4. Proactively identify risks, roadblocks, and scope changes — and solve them before they become issues
  5. Facilitate project meetings, status updates, and executive-level reporting with clarity and confidence
  6. Partner with M&A teams to support IT due diligence and post-acquisition integration planning
  7. Ensure solutions are scalable, sustainable, and aligned with best practices
  8. Contribute to IT portfolio planning and enterprise reporting strategies

Position Requirements :

What We’re Looking For

  1. Hands-on experience leading technical projects in large, complex organizations
  2. Proven experience supporting M&A activities, including integration planning
  3. Strong knowledge of PMBOK, Agile frameworks, and ITIL concepts
  4. Ability to align technical solutions with business objectives
  5. Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  6. Excellent communicator — equally effective with technical teams and executive leadership
  7. Skilled at influencing, building consensus, and navigating complex organizational dynamics

Tools & Experience

  1. MS Project, Visio, Excel, SharePoint
  2. Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), critical path (CPM) scheduling
  3. Epic/Story development in Agile environments
  4. Enterprise-level project documentation and reporting
  5. Experience reporting project progress to senior leadership and C-suite stakeholders
