Position Description
Job Summary:
The Detailing Manager is responsible for effectively directing our Sandblast, Patching and Detail Operations along with the associated equipment. All areas are managed at a high level, focusing on efficiency, and achieving a low cost, profitable operation. The ability to drive a culture of safety, quality and high performance is a key function of this position. As part of the management team, works collaboratively with all departments to build a strong and productive team. Works effectively as a mentor and coach, sharing knowledge and information to steadily advance the skills of the workforce, to drive the business forward. Leadership, teamwork, and cooperation are critical competencies necessary for success in this position.
Essential Functions:
- Safety always wins. Ensures all safety PPE and safety procedures are strictly adhered to and follows up promptly on incidents and nonconformances with company safety policy. This includes the maintenance and calibration of CO meters.
- Obligated. Lead by example. Take on full responsibility for all Sandblasting, Patching and Detailing Operations including supervision of the Detailing Crew Leader and crew. Hold all Detailing employees accountable to the highest level of quality. Plan and schedule daily Sandblasting, Patch and Detailing Operations for optimal efficiency and profitability of the business, taking into consideration customer demands and scheduling changes.
- Ownership. Ensures direct reports follow all established operational procedures in their area of the Sandblast, Patch and Detailing, including Sandblast finishes, creating patch mixes and managing standard and engineered detailing repairs on all product types.
- Ensures toolbox talks, 5S management and PEP participation.
- Promote an environment free from any type of harm. Contributes in keeping the yard clean, well-organized, efficient, and safe. Ensures that tools and equipment are cleaned up daily. This includes routinely cleaning yard racks in Sandblast and cleaning sandblast media off trailers. Ensures compressors, air lines, air dryers, blast pots, nozzles, manlifts, detailing vans and power washers are inspected and maintained.
- Work with Transportation Manager to ensure all scheduling demands to job sites are met.
- Engage and inspire action-reinforcing our values and why they matter. Coordinate and communicate with QC manager and team to provide highest level of quality to customer at lowest cost to the company.

- Training Experience
- Management / Leadership experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Forms
- Experience with ERP Production / Scheduling systems
- Commitment to cultivating a positive workplace culture.
- Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and with employees at all levels.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.

Travel:
Position may require up to 5% travel by personal vehicle to job site locations and offices throughout the state of New York, and New England based on the needs of the business.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
This position is in a manufacturing plant & construction environment. This position works on or near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment. Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time as well as lifting, pulling, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, reaching, driving, and repetitive motion.
