Job Description: Fibertek is seeking motivated summer interns who are ready to kick start their career and build real-world experience in optics labs. As the Optical Engineering Intern, you will be responsible with incoming inspection, implementation, and minor characterization of optical assemblies.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

• Cleaning and assembly of optical components.
• Testing of laser parameters.
• Perform modeling when applicable in Zemax, Paraxia, Matlab, etc.
• Learn companies’ manufacturing, quality, and laboratory processes.

Job Requirements:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• U.S. Citizen.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.
• Self-directed and able to work without supervision.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements/Demands

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Prolonged periods of working in laboratory and moving equipment
• General office environment, no special physical demands required. Some lifting and/or moving up to 15 pounds required.
