Job Description:
Fibertek is seeking a highly skilled and certified Senior Electronics Assembler to perform complex fabrication, assembly, and rework of printed circuit boards, cables, and subassemblies for radiation-hardened space flight and harsh environment hardware. This role requires deep technical expertise, precision, and a commitment to quality in accordance with NASA and IPC standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute advanced assembly, soldering, and rework tasks on circuit card assemblies and cables for space and energy sector applications.
- Interpret and work from schematic diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical specifications to plan and execute work sequences.
- Utilize test equipment to verify parameters during and after rework to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Document procedures, test results, and process improvements to support engineering and quality assurance efforts.
- Mentor and assist junior assemblers/technicians, providing guidance and quality checks to elevate team performance.
- Work with adhesives and epoxies for component attachment to modules and housings.
- Support process development and continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with engineering teams.
Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in high-reliability electronics assembly.
- Proficient in working to NASA-STD-8739.1, 8739.2, 8739.3, 8739.4, IPC J-STD-001, and IPC-A-610 standards.
- Skilled in using microscopes, precision hand tools, and test equipment.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in NASA and IPC standards (current or previously held).
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or energy sectors.
- Familiarity with automated ESD-safe practices.
- Leadership or mentoring experience in a technical environment.
Working Conditions:
- Work performed in a cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environment.
- Requires use of PPE and adherence to strict quality and safety standards.
- May involve extended periods of sitting, microscope work, and fine motor tasks.
