Overview

Sev1Tech is seeking a well qualified Field Support Technician in support of Project Manager, Tactical Radios (PM TR) requirements. The successful candidate will need to enjoy extensive travel as they perform all facets of tactical radio field support, such as be independently responsible for troubleshooting, installation, training, logistics support, and maintenance of associated C5ISR equipment. While not on travel, the FST will provide support to habitually co-located units and may be required to support formal training requirements at or near their location. Our FST's provide network engineering, satellite communications, architecture, analysis, development, and network operations support to PM Tactical Radios and may be responsible for independently designing, modifying, and installing portions of the network infrastructure. Additionally, they will assure non-functioning network components are repaired/replaced in a timely manner.

  • Perform fielding, installation, operations, test, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, over the shoulder training, exercise and test support and maintenance
  • Perform vehicle validation tests during the fielding phase which may include the use of network, spectrum, and other testing devices, following schematics wiring diagrams, tracing and repairing cables, and leveraging their experience of C5ISR equipment, ensuring the platform meets 10/20 standards
  • Hands-on or educational experience in one or more of the following core technical areas: electronics, network support (hardware/software), computers (hardware or software), tactical radios, satellite networks, data encryption, web-based apps, encryption devices, COMSEC, or Platforms.
  • Assists in conducting tests and evaluations of electronic instrumentation by laboratory and field tests for use in solving existing problems.


Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree. Four (4) years of additional direct relevant technical experience can be substituted/utilized for education.
  • Must be a US Citizen and be capable of maintaining DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Must have 5 years of relevant experience and understanding in field support of tactical radios.
  • Must have recent and relevant experience with platform installation variants, military grade radios, operational experience with Joint Battle Command - Platform (JBC-P), SASM and MAPS (Gen I and II)
  • Capability to distinguish between hardware and software problems in multi-vendor systems.
  • Must agree to extended periods of work related travel in garrison and operationally deployed environments


Qualifications



  • Tactical Radio Experience (To include the following hardware and associated waveforms). SINCGARS, TACSAT, MOUS, TSM, HF Operations, WREN TSM, MAPS.

  • Due to the nature of this work, prior military experience is preferred and will take priority
