Test and Integration Engineer
Leidos is seeking a Test and Integration Engineer to lead cutting-edge testing and validation efforts within the Maritime System Solutions (MSS) Portfolio of our Maritime Systems Division (MSD). This role is a unique opportunity to drive innovation in testing underwater vehicle systems, maritime sensors, subsea telemetry, and ISR solutions that support critical defense and national security missions.
You'll contribute to a multidisciplinary team focused on testing, integrating, and validating advanced maritime technologies, ensuring system reliability and performance from prototype design to full-scale system deployment for ongoing Navy missions.

What You’ll Do
- Test and Validate: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, procedures, and protocols to ensure system functionality, reliability, and compliance with requirements.
- Integrate systems and conduct hands-on testing: Develop and execute integration plans to bring complex systems together. Perform hands-on testing, validation, and verification of software and hardware systems, including integrated electro-mechanical systems.
- Collaborate: Work closely with systems engineers, software developers, and hardware teams to identify and resolve issues during testing phases.
- Automate Testing: Develop automated testing frameworks and tools to streamline validation processes.
- Analyze Results: Document and analyze test results, providing detailed reports and recommendations for system improvements.
- Support Development: Ensure a “design for testing” focus during system development and integration.
- Mentor Team: Guide and mentor a matrixed team of engineers through testing phases of the product lifecycle.
What You Bring
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Ocean), Computer Science, Physics, or Math.
- 4-8+ years of hands-on testing, integration, validation, and verification experience with software and integrated electro-mechanical systems including developing test procedures.
- Strong software background and experience with testing frameworks, scripting languages, and automation tools.
- Proficiency in test automation, data acquisition systems, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with UUVs, deployed subsea systems, and underwater payloads.
- Experience with designing, writing, executing, and evaluating system integration bench tests.
- Experience performing software system subcomponent testing/integration and using Matlab or Python for data analysis.
- Proven track record in developing automated testing frameworks and transitioning designs to production.
- Experience with test data management systems and statistical analysis of test results.
