JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

Responsible for leading the consumer and commercial loan processing function to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant loan boarding and maintenance. This role manages daily processing workflows, develops a high‑performing team, and serves as a subject matter expert and escalation point to support consistent execution, strong file quality, and effective coordination with lending and operational partners.

Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing loan processing team, establishing clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards

Oversee day‑to‑day loan processing, boarding, and maintenance activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance

Manage processing pipelines and workflow capacity to improve throughput, predictability, and on‑time loan boarding

Serve as an escalation point and subject matter resource for complex processing issues and documentation questions

Partner with lending, loan operations, quality control, and other stakeholders to improve end‑to‑end loan execution and handoffs

Monitor processing quality, backlog volume, and aging; implement corrective actions as needed

Drive continuous improvement of tools, procedures, and controls to enhance consistency, documentation quality, and audit readiness

Other Duties

Participate in system enhancements, workflow design, and operational change initiatives

Support audit, exam, and internal review requests related to loan processing and boarding

Assist with reporting, metrics development, and management updates related to processing performance

Other duties as assigned

Skills/Abilities

Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams

High attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills

Effective written and verbal communication skills across cross functional teams

Ability to analyze workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement practical process improvements

Strong working knowledge of accounting and reconciliation processes

Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with core banking and loan processing systems preferred

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in an office setting, the opportunity to telework is not available. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Office environment with job duties conducted via telephone, face to face meetings, and on the computer.

Physical Demands

This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open cabinets. This position requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary.

Travel

Limited local travel may be required for this position.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent banking experience

Demonstrated success in a senior level loan processing role within a bank, with increasing responsibility and complexity

2+ years of experience in loan processing or a related role.

Thorough understanding of loan processing workflows, documentation standards, and loan boarding requirements

Proven experience leading a high volume processing or workflow based team

Prior supervisory experience managing a loan processing team at a bank is preferred
