Job Summary

 

Monitors gas transportation, purchases, sales, and storage volumes on pipeline and/or LDC systems to capture accurate P&L, reporting, and invoice gas flow to serve Symmetry customers. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Update ETRM system throughout the week to provide accurate P&L reporting.
  • Gather both storage and usage information from pipeline and LDC bulletin boards.
  • Create transportation and storage paths from receipt and delivery points.
  • Estimate CNI deals within the ETRM system.
  • Load large datasets of consumption reads into the ETRM system. 
  • Accurately assign imbalance volumes to transportation contracts or OBA agreements.
  • Upload current withdrawal and injection activity into the ETRM system.
  • Accurately reflect any curtailed volumes into the ETRM system.
  • Successfully hand off estimated volumes to accounting at the end of each month.
  • Communicate daily with scheduling, trading, and intercompany departments. 
  • Nominates and schedules gas transportation on pipeline and/or LDC systems in compliance with contract provisions and the Tariff, timing and procedures.
  • Collects and monitors electronic flow measurement data for company receipt and delivery points each day and adjust nominations in order to minimize imbalances.
  • Monitors weather forecasts and pipeline and/or LDC transportation allocations.
  • Has financial acumen required to back up physical scheduling.
  • Helps review and verify gas transportation invoices from pipelines to assure accuracy and resolve discrepancies with pipeline transporters.
  • Creates, updates, and controls contents of gas scheduling and allocation computer files.  Verifies system data and audits accuracy of system data.
  • Prepares daily and monthly reports as required indicating gas volumes flowed, transport imbalances and storage balances.
  • Prepares and analyses reports to manage gas flow activity.

Education and Experience

  1. Requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. 
  • Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Person Characteristics
    1. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
    2. Detail oriented
    3. Experience with Endur, preferred
    4. Adaptable to change

Work Environment

  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with short deadlines that may require more than a 40-hour work week to meet established deadlines including working nights, weekends, or holidays, as required. 
  • Hybrid work schedule. Monday and/or Friday’s remote work; Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in office work. 
  • Able to work indoors, in an open-concept, office environment, with frequent deskwork.  
  • Able to participate in on-call activities when required during various weekday, evening and/or weekend/holiday hours to assist customers and/or company personnel.
  • Able to travel occasionally, possibly overnight, to pipeline and customer meetings and/or energy industry conferences.
