Description
The Security Engineering Program (SEP) under Homeland and Force Protection at Leidos currently has an opening within the Professional Services Support (PSS) Program for a Radio Communication Technician with network engineering experience The candidate is responsible for providing remote and on-site service, repair, and installation support for new and existing communication hardware, software, network configurations, and new system initiatives across all locations within their area of responsibility.
They will diagnose mechanical or technical deviations from performance specifications using established procedures and prepare reports to analyze failure trends and serviceability issues. Their responsibilities may also include providing on-site support services and assisting in the development and implementation of area-wide procedural and policy changes. The candidate will be responsible for entire projects or processes within their professional area and will typically be accountable for coaching and reviewing their peers' work. They will develop technical solutions to complex problems, collaborate with internal experts, and perform in-depth analyses of the impact of their solutions on the product. This position is in the Austin, Texas Metro Area.
Basic Qualifications:
Must possess a minimum of TS Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain program SCI.
Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in telecommunications, electrical, computer engineering, radio communications, and related communication technologies.
Experience in one or more of the following areas: WAN/WLAN/LAN, cross-domain solutions, communications security, and peer connectivity.
Experience working with wireless/wired telecommunications technologies and platforms; interfacing commercial carrier representatives and articulating telecommunication service requests at a very technical level; and utilizing project management competencies in determining the applicable scope of work, material and equipment procurement, scheduling, and budgets for assigned projects.
Experience in operating and maintaining radio communications across multiple wave spectrums (VHF, UHF, EHF, and SHF) in LOS and BLOS configurations.
Experience with maintaining Communications Security devices and material.
Must have the ability to travel between 25-30% of the time.
Must have normal color vision.
Able to constantly stand to perform maintenance tasks for extended periods; frequently walk to access work sites while maintaining balance on uneven surfaces; make frequent coordinated hand movements to grasp, place, or move objects.
Able to occasionally: bend, stoop, and kneel; climb to access equipment, use ladders, and use lift carts; lift and carry objects weighing up to forty-five (45) pounds a minimum of twenty (20) feet; push and pull objects weighing up to seventy-five (75) pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Cyber Transport Systems (Infrastructure) background
IAT Level I/II certification(s)
Experience with Harris Tactical and or LMR systems
Experience with Tactical and or LMR systems
