The Mission
As the Software Development Manager for our SITE III Directorate Operations (DO) team, you won’t just manage tasks—you will lead the engineering heartbeat of the U.S. Intelligence Community. We are looking for a hands-on technical leader to bridge the gap between high-level strategy and mission-critical execution. If you thrive on building high-performing teams and navigating complex software architectures in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment, this is your next challenge.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Lead & Scale: Direct multiple cross-functional engineering teams, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
Architect the Future: Drive strategic decisions on technology selection (AWS, Java, Python) and system design to ensure our solutions are resilient and innovative.
Bridge the Gap: Act as the primary technical translator between executive leadership, architects, and stakeholders, ensuring project milestones are met with transparency.
Deliver at Scale: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of complex products—from initial resource allocation and risk mitigation to final deployment.
Mentor & Grow: Take ownership of the "people" side of engineering, including hiring, performance coaching, and career development for your team members.
The Technical Toolkit We’re Looking For
Leadership Core: 4+ years of experience managing engineering teams within an 8+ year career in full-stack software development.
Cloud Proficiency: Hands-on experience with the AWS ecosystem (EC2, S3, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch).
Modern Stack: Deep familiarity with Java, Python (Poetry/Flask), and JavaScript frameworks (React/Angular).
DevOps & Agile: Proficiency with the Atlassian suite (Jira/Confluence), Jenkins, Docker, and Git.
Strategic Planning: Ability to use Microsoft Project and Agile methodologies to manage PMR briefings and weekly status reporting.
Compliance: Understanding of CIO processes and EMO functional requirements.
