Leidos is offering an exciting opportunity for a Cloud Cybersecurity Intern to join our exceptional MDEC Cloud team. Our team is at the forefront of developing and implementing multi-cloud solutions, leveraging a cloud-agnostic approach to deliver value and address challenges faced by our end users.
As a Cloud Cybersecurity Intern, you will be expected to demonstrate a solid understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, system administration, and fundamental security concepts. You will also perform basic-level cyber analysis of potential events that could pose risks to Leidos.
In this role, you will collaborate with cloud engineers, architects, and other IT professionals to execute tasks assigned by your manager. You will be encouraged to share your ideas, accept constructive feedback, and contribute to improving team performance. A positive and open approach to teamwork and collaboration will be essential to your success.
Primary Responsibilities
- Motivated self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of creating detailed technical reports on analytic findings.
- Reviews DoD intelligence to identify potential threats.
- Conducts basic cloud-level cyber analysis of potential events.
- Performs vulnerability, risk, and threat analysis.
- Executes other cloud-related duties as assigned.
- Tracks and manages STIG checklists across various operating systems and applications.
- Assists in implementing STIG configurations.
- Manages ACAS vulnerability reports and performs remediation as required.
- Ensures compliance with periodic SCAP and STIG requirements to harden servers.
- Conducts ongoing vulnerability, risk, and threat assessments.
Basic Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in a degree program from an accredited college/university in a related field of study.
- Familiarity with Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of web application security.
- Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and risk management methodologies.
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of corrective action management and auditing principles.
- Demonstrates a personal commitment to safety and quality.
- Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, system administration, and common security elements.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) directives and policies and procedures pertaining to sensitive information
