We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Multiskilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to lead and execute complex maintenance activities across our facilities. This role is responsible for advanced troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of building systems including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and general facility infrastructure.
The ideal candidate is proactive, technically strong across multiple trades, safety-focused, and capable of working independently while also mentoring junior technicians. This position plays a critical role in ensuring facilities remain safe, reliable, and mission-ready.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and building systems
- Respond promptly and effectively to routine maintenance requests and emergency maintenance situations
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
- Maintain accurate records including work orders, maintenance logs, incident reports, and equipment histories
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, policies, and procedures
- Coordinate and oversee work performed by vendors and contractors, ensuring quality and safety standards are met
- Assist with inventory control, including tracking supplies, tools, and spare parts
- Support budgeting, procurement, and forecasting of maintenance supplies and equipment
- Mentor and support junior maintenance technicians by providing guidance, training, and technical oversight
- Communicate clearly with facility occupants regarding maintenance issues, timelines, and resolution status
Basic Qualifications
- TS/SCI with Poly clearance is required
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in facilities maintenance or a related technical role
- Proven experience performing advanced troubleshooting and repairs across multiple skilled trades
- Strong working knowledge of building systems including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex issues and implement effective corrective actions
- Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple work orders simultaneously
- Clear and professional communication skills, including interaction with customers and stakeholders
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in confined or elevated spaces
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certifications or licenses in one or more trades (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, or related fields)
- Advanced knowledge of safety practices, OSHA regulations, and facility compliance standards
- Experience mentoring or leading junior maintenance technicians
- Experience working in secure or mission-critical facilities
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field
