The Customer Pricing Manager, Field Accounts is responsible for driving and supporting the country strategy, developing and managing the implementation of customer pricing programs, processes and policies that will support the business vision and mission. The incumbent will develop, manage and implement processes, systems and policies that will enable the business to efficiently and effectively turn around bids, RFQs (Requests for Quotes) and RFIs (Requests for Information) in a way that increases the profitability and productivity of the business. The incumbent will streamline the internal process to deliver pricing to our customers’ expectations, balancing profitability with customer retention and acquisition, aiming also at improving customer satisfaction and customer loyalty. The Customer Pricing Manager, Field Accounts, will follow industry developments and competitor pricing strategies that may affect pricing structures, and provide tactical and strategic responses.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Analyzes and recommends appropriate pricing for DHL products and services for specific customers by applying guidelines, performing profitability analysis, and suggesting optimal pricing
  • Analyzes and recommends appropriate pricing for DHL products and services for specific customers by applying guidelines, performing profitability analysis, and suggesting optimal pricing; enforces and interprets pricing policy; works closely with Sales
  • Analyzes shipment volume and revenue to determine effectiveness and profitability of pricing strategies
  • Forecasts volume and revenue to use in financial and operational planning activities
  • Initiates profitability reports and develops plans to increase profitability and improve yield
  • Analyzes competitor pricing and makes recommendations regarding ways to improve DHL pricing and profitability
  • May provide functional guidance, advice and/or training to less experienced pricing professionals 
  • Serves as consultant to management on major matters pertaining to policies, plans, and objectives
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies that enhance profitability while ensuring competitive pricing
  • Evaluate the impact of pricing changes on sales and margins
  • Ensure pricing policies comply with regulations and company policies
  • Analyzing price change requests from the sales team by evaluating margin impact, potential incremental volume, and competitor price levels
  • Collaborate with sales, and finance teams on pricing decisions

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • 5+ years of pricing experience in a corporate environment preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership and to make decisions within job scope
  • Exceptional analytical skills used in complex business environments
  • Demonstrated experience managing competing priorities and expectations
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments; deal with conflicts diplomatically
  • Solid exposure to managing pricing processes, implementing pricing initiatives, and creating pricing process documentation
  • Possess a strong understanding of pricing strategies and concepts
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical skills, comfortable dealing with numerical data, and have strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to develop and implement pricing strategies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks
